Protocol No. 54122
Saturday 3 May, 2008
To All Attending the
Annual Mass for Scouting, and
Scouting Awards Ceremony
Dear Friends:
Though I cannot be with you today, I am very happy to be represented by Archbishop Emeritus Donoghue, whose record of support for the Scouting movement in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, I am fortunate and proud to inherit, and to continue. To all those who support our Scouts - our clergy and parish personnel, the adult members of the Scouting community, and the parents and friends of our Scouts -1 wish to express my sincere gratitude for your help in providing this most important service to our young Catholic boys and girls.
To the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of America, and the young people of Camp Fire USA, who have come together today to be recognized and honored, I offer my congratulations and my admiration for the work you have done to merit the awards presented today. May the Holy Spirit now inspire and guide you, to use the skills and virtues gained from Scouting, for the betterment of our country, and our world.
Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Rosary Patch Series, which was due to end June 30, 2007, has been extended indefinitely. All four Mysteries of the Rosary (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious) have now been introduced. The requirements may be downloaded from the NCCS website www.nccs-bsa.org. Some of the questions may require some research (biblical reference), however, the purpose of earning the patch is to further your understanding of the birth, ministry, passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each patch is $4 and may be earned by Tigers, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts (Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors), Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Adults. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary Ellen Yeomans at 770-977-2883.
